Not the greatest sushi in the world, but when you're stuck in Penn Station and craving sushi, it does the job. They have bubble tea and an assortment of beverages. I was able to get 4 rice balls (tuna and spicy tuna) and a bottle of Ito En unsweetened green tea for $15.99.

As I entered Penn Station for the first time to take the Amtrak, I was greeted by seemingly endless walkways towards trains, local and beyond. The station offered many different food choices scattered along the side on both floors including Penn Sushi. Since it was my first time there, I did not want to wander off too far. Penn Sushi was right near the Amtrak boarding areas and was close to other food options such as KFC and Starbucks. For their food, I'm not too sure if there is a menu to order from. It was a relatively small operation with three ladies there preparing and assisting customers. The main display in front of their counter offers prepackaged sushi that they make in store. They have rolls as well as nigiris along with plenty of drink and snack options. The front also have a small area for patrons to eat while waiting for their train. I purchased their mixed roll which had three pieces each of spicy salmon, salmon, and California. The spicy salmon seemed more red than most that I've seen at other sushi joints but taste was fine. Overall I think it's a great and quick spot for those that are waiting in the Amtrak area. No wait time, just grand and go.

It's pre-boxed sushi made onsite in Penn Station - and it's not bad. Is it as good as your local NYC sushi joint...of course not. Is it infinitely better than the pre-packaged sushi at your local NYC bodega...absolutely. Is it more expensive than McDonalds or grocery store sushi in Sheboygan...duh!. Faced with a 3:30 PM departure out of Penn Station that didn't get into Boston until after 8:00 PM we knew our dinner choices were limited. So we chose Penn Sushi...and were actually quite pleased. We got a mix of various maki and nigiri and some mochi and other snacks to go with and it all was well above 'edible' though nothing was 'spectacular'. Which for sushi you pluck out of a display case is not bad at all.
